The Trees

Left Coast Farm Kona Coffee comes from our orchard of the traditional Arabica species Kona typica. Most of the 1800 Kona Coffee trees at Left Coast Farm are over 60 years old. They enjoy morning sun, afternoon rains, natural shade, many bird friends and a great ocean view! We give them lots of TLC with frequent fertilizing, yearly pruning, careful harvesting and constant suckering and weeding.

The Process

Happy trees make tasty coffee, and there’s lots to do to make sure it stays that way! Meticulous hand picking, immediate pulping, a little bit of ferment and lots of sun drying, then off to the mill to be polished and graded-each 50 pound bag of coffee gets picked up and attended to at least seven times before it is ready to go to the roasters.
