Our three-acre piece of paradise is situated two thousand feet up the side of Mauna Loa Volcano, in the heart of the Kona coffee district. Coffee likes to be high, so we are not on the water-not a good scene! But the 180° view of Pu'uhonua O Honaunau, the ancient and sacred City of Refuge and Kealakekua Bay, where Captain Cook met his, from the lanai eases our pain a bit. After all, the surf and the fishies are only a short bop down the road!
